When the Creative Marketing Spigot Runs Dry

Imagine if creativity was sparked by simply saying ‘go.’ You could loudly yell ‘go’ and immediately produce the most amazing, original and creative marketing idea that ever lived. 

As much as we would like that, we all know it often doesn’t work like that. More often than we like, we sit there, stare at the computer or one another, and hear … 🦗🦗🦗. Crickets.

For some, being creative is entwined in their hobbies or how they spend time with their friends and family. Others express their creativity through what they wear or the music they listen to. And for some, such as those of us in marketing, creativity is a part of what we do and how we earn a living.

This puts a new spin on creativity. You are now expected to ‘turn it on.’ Your creativity may have a deadline. Your job title may even label you a ‘creative.’ 🙌 

No pressure at all. Just open the spigot. Let the ideas flow out. If only…
